VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION EVENT December 11, 2011

Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone for making this event a memorable and successful one!  We got a chance to come together to share our stories, laugh at various occurrences and learn about sundry accomplishments achieved by all of us via PVNF.  In addition, it was really cool to see so many new faces as we look forward to expanding our membership and increasing our project activities.  We hope everyone enjoyed the event as we look forward to an even bigger and better year in 2012!

Special thanks to those who brought extra food to share and to those who were able to take home the left overs .  When we were in Vietnam,  we saw a lot of people get by with very limited food resources; therefore, we hate to see any food go to waste.

We hope this finds you and yours well and from all of us to all of you, we wish you the BEST YEAR EVER in 2012!

From PROJECT VIETNAM FOUNDATION Board and Volunteer Staff
FALL MEDICAL TRIP Oct  22-Nov 13, 2011
The medical team of 25 members covered 8 provinces-Saigon, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, Binh Dinh, Nghe An, Hai Duong, Vinh Phuc and Hanoi, providing training on Neonatal Care, Women's Health and Pediatric Care and Specialty areas. An affiliated group GIC performed surgical repairs on 11 unfortunate children with cleft lip and palate in Vinh Yen. 706858355606

This father at the main hospital in Rach Gia has to deliver oxygen to his sick baby with the breathing bag we donated. There is a lack of respiratory machines in the provinces. If this baby survives, he is at risk for permanent damages to lungs and eyes among other problems.

We have trained 28 instructors and 82 providers in October-November 2011 on Newborn resuscitation, and distributed 200 breathing bags in Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Ha Tay provinces and in the Mekong Delta, using funds raised in September for the Breaths For Newborns program.

Much more is needed, please join us to save the babies!
